Will Power is a male only fitness and wellbeing club for all abilities for men High School age and above.
A typical night consists of a 45 min workout or activity in Brannock High’s sports hall with a demonstration of exercises – then warm up, main workout, cool down and stretch all led by professional instructor Mick Chance from MicXfit.
A variety of actives run at the same time, such as indoor bowls, table tennis and badminton. We aim to have something for everyone. You don’t have to be in great shape to start, activities are aimed at all levels of fitness and abilities.
Afterward we get together in the YAMS Hub for a chat, food and refreshments. Exercise can be beneficial for your mental health and wellbeing, and so we combine this with the opportunity to get together and chat, support and encourage each other. There is a counsellor and Reiki therapist available in the Hub which you can use free of charge after the main fitness session.
In our opening night we were joined by Michael Byrne (Clutha survivor and author of Poems From a Mod) who shared his story and offered some words of support. We aim to have regular visits from guest speakers and organisations as well offering as wellbeing and nutrition advice. This group is for any men who want to feel better about themselves. We believe a healthy body equals a healthy mind, so come and join us this Thursday. Everything is free, no sign up required.
Feedback from our first night:
“I attended the Will Power men’s fitness and wellbeing group last night and left feeling motivated, inspired and having met some really top blokes”
We hope to be announcing a few more upcoming clubs and classes in the near future through YAMS, such as a Women’s Only Fitness and Wellbeing Club and The Young Mind’s Hub (a Children’s Mental Health Group). Please check for information regarding these and our upcoming free Education Courses which will be announced soon through our social media outlets.
