This year the theme we have
adopted for Breathing Space Day is 'Wear the badge for Recovery and
We have decided on this theme being inspired by our Mission
Statement which helps us to promote the service we provide to the
people of Scotland.
Breathing Space is a free, confidential phone and web based
service for people in Scotland experiencing low mood, depression or
anxiety. We are here in times of difficulty to provide a safe and
supportive space by listening, offering advice and information. It
is our belief and hope that by empowering people they will have the
resources to recover.
It is this last line that we wish to embrace and emphasise to
all through local and national activity and awareness raising this
Breathing Space day.
This awareness will further link to another event later on in
February initiated by the Scottish Recovery Network (SRN) who will
be staging a National Gathering. Although fully subscribed you can
find out more about this event by clicking
We see you as important and significant key connectors and
messengers for this theme to be further promoted to the people of
Scotland whilst, in addition, reminding all that Breathing Space is
a service that individuals can use should the need arise to talk
about any concerns that may be causing anxiety, fear or distress.
Our expert team of advisors are on hand to take calls and to
respond empathically to all who contact.
If you wish to support us in this endeavour and in addition
further promote Breathing Space day this February then can I ask
that you contact Jennifer@breathingspacescotland.co.uk and let her
know how many badges you would like for any events you may be
arranging for the 1st February or for members of staff, colleagues
and friends to wear in the run up to Breathing Space day and on the
day itself. Jennifer will be happy to support you in this request
and with any further need you have for additional Breathing Space
