Promoting Positive Health in Schools 1

On Thursday, 10th March, four senior pupils from Lesmahagow High school travelled to Stirling to deliver a presentation at the Enquire Annual Conference: Promoting Positive Mental Health in Schools. The four school captains: Nicola Rose, Jennifer Dyet, Rory MacDonald and Thomas Roarty spoke to delegates about the school's Mental Health Week and, in particular, of work done in school to make pupils alert to suicide. The pupils concluded their speech to the conference by reaffirming the school's desire that all stigma surrounding mental health be dispelled and that, one day, mental health would be treated with the same importance as physical health in our society. According to the event's organisers, 80% of delegates cited this presentation as being the highlight of the event.

Wednesday, April 15, 2015 By: Gerald | Tagged: , |

MyRAP is now being used with small groups of people which encourages natural peer support. Each MyRAP group is facilitated by two Peer Support Workers who use their own lived experience in a therapeutic way to guide and support the group.

Groups are interactive, fun and creative and provide people with various methods to share learning and experiences in a comfortable environment.

MyRAP groups run in each area for a period of six weeks and each session lasts no longer than one and a half hours.
