Cumbernauld Living Landscape

Cumbernauld Living Landscape and The Conservation Volunteers are running a programme of fun and free outdoor sessions for adults in the Cumbernauld area. They are looking for people to join them and be guided through a range of activities designed to increase wellbeing by connecting with local, natural places. All sessions include a walk, a chance to sit and have a chat over a cup of tea and a conservation activity.

Northern Corridor Community Volunteers are a volunteer group based around the Moodiesburn / Chryston area.  We take on a range of environmental activities to improve our local area and are always looking for new volunteers to get involved in our events which are listed on our website and our facebook page.

Cumbernauld Walking Club are a small group organising weekly walks of  approximately 5 miles in length, taking around 2 hours to complete.

Cumbernauld YMCA allotment project

Cumbernauld YMCA has a free open allotment space that is available for people to use Monday to Friday 9.00am until 3.00pm.  If you have an interest in gardening but don't have your own space then you can come along and use this newly built allotment to grow your own food and improve your health.  Share your knowledge or come and learn from Scottish Allotments who can provide free classes.

Kilsyth Woodland Centre (Wildside in Scotland)

The Village Workshop Project is a community build of a green timber building funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.  There are regular Drop In Thursdays where you can come along to the community woodlands (Low Craigends gate, opposite no 43) to have a go with chisels, axes, draw knives and mallets, develop some skills and help the building to take shape.

Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers is a large and active group, with both ladies and gents of all ages, offering regular weekly walks of varying lengths. New walkers are always made most welcome.  If you are unsure of your fitness level then try a short and easy walk first.

Get Walking Lanarkshire

Walking is a great form of exercise as it has so many health benefits. One way to increase the amount of walking you do is to join a local health walk group.  Get Walking Lanarkshire run various health walks across Cumbernauld and the northern corridor, you can find the timetable at the link below.  There's no need to book.
