K-Woodlands is an urban woodland at the western boundary of East Kilbride and a project of the EK Community Trust. The woodland is fully accessible and has clear vistas across the whole of Renfrewshire and South Lanarkshire. K-Woodlands is open 24/7 for everyone to enjoy, and is becoming a popular spot for families, dog walkers and people enjoying a leisurely stroll. We offer a range of free community events, ranging from health walks, forest school, play at K, movies nights, food in the woods, citizen science and many more.
Friends of Langlands Moss on-going mission is to work towards restoring, managing, maintaining access to and raising public awareness of Langlands Moss. Over the past few years, the Friends in conjunction with the SLC Countryside Ranger Service have organised and run various public open days on the Moss. Some of those involved talks on the history and hydrology of the Moss and others offered hands-on opportunities for people to get involved with the necessary practical conservation work that the bog requires. Some of this conservation work included clearing inappropriate trees which were growing on the Moss, litter and other debris from the Moss.
We are a group of enthusiastic ramblers of all ages and from all walks of life The one thing we all have in common is that we love to walk in the countryside!
We meet every second Monday evening at 7.00 pm in the Westwood Community Centre, Riverton Road, East Kilbride G75 8EY. At this meeting, we hear details of the next walk and book-on if we wish to come along on the following Sunday. Afterwards we have tea and biscuits followed by a social event.
