Retreats offer the benefit of getting away from the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Buddist meditation and retreat centres in the UK offer the benefit of getting away from the stresses and strains of everyday life by providing a space in which to return a sense of self, calm, and normality. The form and style of retreat varies but generally they provide the opportunity to be in a quiet environment often with some form of meditation practice.
Thoughts and stories of recovery that inspire hope and challenge preconceptions.
Personal stories of recovery can inform and inspire people with experience of mental health problems, carers and service providers alike. Learning about other people’s experiences can also help to challenge misconceptions. Stories offer hints and techniques on recovery and recognise the fact that people in recovery are experts by experience, stating very clearly that people can and do recover.
